Colourful Semantics - Christmas Activity Pack

Colourful Semantics is a visual language learning approach that can be used to help all children develop their language, but can be especially helpful for children with a range of Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) including:

New for December 2023 we have a Christmas themed pack with lots of fun festive pictures to talk about, vocabulary to learn and sentences to build.
 
This picture based activity pack helps children to develop their vocabulary and improve the length/ structure of their sentences. It supports the following development:
 
Encourages a wider vocabulary
Makes sentences longer
Helps children to answer questions
Develops use of nouns, verbs, prepositions and adjectives
Improves story-telling (narrative) skills
Can be transferred to written sentences and written language comprehension
Can be carried out individually or in small groups
 
This PDF download, for you to print, assemble and use, includes 20 different picture scenes with all of the needed cue cards, symbols and vocabulary to make over 20 different sentences. It uses the original colours set by Alison Bryan who created the approach and contains who - what doing - with what - where - when - why - to who and when cue cards.
 
It can be used individually at home/nursery/school or in small group activities. It is recommended for children 3+ and is suitable for primary and secondary school age too.
